The Dawn Project’s latest safety tests reveal that Tesla Full Self-Driving is still riddled with critical safety defects.
The safety tests were conducted on public roads by The Dawn Project in Santa Barbara, California in June 2025, using the latest version of Tesla Full Self-Driving software available at the time of testing, Tesla Full Self-Driving version 13.2.9.
The tests found that Tesla Full Self-Driving could not recognize a ‘Do Not Enter’ sign or navigate a parking garage. The software continues to attempt to pull out into oncoming traffic and will drive on the wrong side of the wrong.
The Dawn Project’s testing also found that FSD v13.2.9 will still run a child down while illegally blowing past a stopped school bus, even with red lights flashing and a stop sign extended.
On each test run, the internal camera shows the viewer that FSD is clearly engaged. Our tests were conducted in real world driving scenarios on public roads, highlighting the immediate and real danger posed to child pedestrians by Full Self-Driving software.
